Carers
Carers are people supporting a relative, friend or neighbour who cannot manage at home without help because of illness, disability or the effects of old age.
Carers can be any age, men or women, and the care they provide can vary between providing occasional help to fulltime support. Carers are ordinary people who simply get on with what has to be done when someone close to them needs help. Caring can be stressful and tiring and some people do it for many years, often unaware of the help that is available to them.
You are entitled to request a free Carer's Assessment to help you find the best support. Contact Devon Carers on 03456 434 435.
Sid Valley HELP produces an Information for Carers' Booklet. Copies can be found in many public places in Sidmouth, or it can be downloaded as a PDF file here. Phone us if you want to have a copy sent to you.
